Responsibility

We Drive ... A Sustainable Future

We deliver innovative and meaningful solutions to help restaurants and our business create a more sustainable, ethical and responsible future. Every day. All over the world.

Running great restaurants means a focus on environmentally-responsible practices – a critical priority for Martin Brower and our customers. We go well beyond simply delivering products to sharing and collaborating on best practices to reduce our collective impact on the planet and accelerate our progress toward sustainability.

ISO 14001 Certified

With ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, the International Standardisation Organisation sets a high bar to ensure we are always doing our best to conserve vital resources. In each part of our business operations we work to prevent pollution, reduce waste and minimise risk for environmental liability. We voluntarily participate in ISO 14001 and each of our wholly-owned Martin Brower facilities is ISO 14001-certified.

Zero Waste to Landfill

Our ambitious goal of eliminating waste from overflowing landfills is achievable. In addition to recycling paper, cardboard and shrink wrap once destined for landfills, we are innovating ways to divert organic and fuel waste through partnership with food banks and energy providers. We continually adapt our processes to most efficiently reduce, reuse and recycle, and won’t stop until we hit zero.

Reverse Logistics is a key component in striving to achieve our goal of Zero Waste to Landfill.

We have incorporated the collection of a range of waste streams from restaurants into our delivery process returning these to our facilities via reverse logistics for onward recycling into biofuel, recycled paper products and energy. These value-added services reduce both our own and our customers’ impact on the environment as well as driving efficiencies and reducing delivery costs.

Carbon Footprint Reduction

We are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of the products we deliver and our impact on the environment.
  • Alternative Fuels

We are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of the products we deliver with innovative use of cleaner, renewable, alternative fuels. Our businesses in the UK, United Arab Emirates, France, Australia and Singapore collect used cooking oil (UCO) and other food waste from our restaurant customers and convert it to biodiesel.
  • Advanced Routing Software

As part of our commitment to both best practices in environmental responsibility and cost reduction, our proprietary advanced routing software kilometres, costs and carbon footprints are reduced and deliveries optimized.
  • Telematics

We use the latest vehicle tracking software to monitor and manage our fleet, receiving intelligence that enables us to save on maintenance costs and improve fuel efficiency.
  • Noise Reduction

Equipping trucks in France with a ‘silent’ mode engine software function to reduce noise levels allows for early morning and night time deliveries in urban areas.

Reverse Logistics

In the UK, our well-established reverse logistics programme collects several waste streams from our customers’ restaurants including “back-of-house” waste such as used cooking oil, grease trough waste and cardboard in addition to food waste.
